3 Highly Effective Ways to Market a Medical Practice

When it comes to marketing a medical practice, many physicians believe that a few newspaper ads or billboards will have customers flocking into their office. Although these methods of marketing may work to attract people in the short term, it's not enough to build a successful, thriving medical practice.

Market To Your Current Client Base

CARE IMPROVEMENT PLUS PROVIDER

Marketing a health care practice starts with your current patients. These patients clients are already familiar with the type of care that you provide. One way you can provide value to your patients while marketing your medical practice is to send a monthly newsletter with health tips and advice. You can send this newsletter via direct mail or you can get email addresses from your patients and send the newsletter via email.

Market By Offering Excellent Patient Care

How you treat each and every one of your current patients is actually one of the main factors in having a successful medical practice that lasts for the long-term. The higher quality of care that you provide, the more likely they are to stay loyal to you.

A very successful doctor in San Diego, California holds an annual party for his patients and their guests. He rents space in a local park and has various activities set up like rock climbing, face painting and inflatable jumpers for the kids, plus he orders food for everyone.

People want to feel appreciated. Building relationships based on genuine care will keep people coming back whenever they need your help. When you go the extra mile for them, they'll go the extra mile for you. Sure, there may be other medical providers that offer care for less and have offices closer to your patients' homes, but when you offer great service, people are willing to drive a little farther to get that great service.

Market Your Medical Practice on the Internet

The internet has opened up so many avenues for you to market your medical practice. Nowadays most people do research the internet before deciding on a health care practitioner, so it's in your best interest to look into marketing on the internet.

One way you can market your medical practice on the internet is to build a website and hire an internet marketing firm to help you get clients searching the web for health care practitioners in your area.

Another way to market on the internet is to start a blog and write about your medical practice. You can also write blog posts on just about anything related to the medical services you offer or provide health tips for readers. Share this blog with your current patients and encourage them to share the blog with their friends and family.

A third way you can market your medical practice on the internet is to get involved with social networking marketing websites like Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, etc. Most social networking websites allow you to search for people in your area. If your patients are on these social networking sites, invite them to connect with you online.

Great patient care, providing value, and staying connected with your patients will ensure that you have a successful medical practice for many years to come.

The Role and Responsibilities of the Daycare Staff

If it is a comfortable career that you are looking for, then stay away from daycare since this is one care involving plenty of work as well as responsibilities plus the capability to develop a variety of relationships in addition to roles. The intricate day care staff role and the intricate relationships innate in the same all factor in when it comes to maintaining a safe and effective day care environment.

To start with, the first major relationship is that of the worker/child. The worker must see his role beyond being a caregiver and realize that he is tasked to enrich the child's experience by facilitating a creative learning and play environment. He needs to cultivate a caring, warm and consistent personality to do so.

CARE IMPROVEMENT PLUS PROVIDER PORTAL

A wide range of skills is needed in a day care staff. First off, the worker must have tons of patience plus the capacity to encourage autonomous learning, to provide a safe as well as hygienic environment, to encourage self-assurance and uniqueness and to support the children in taking piece in the knowledge. He has to have the awareness that children are developmentally all different and should cultivate a caring culture within the classroom.

Day care staffs must all work together harmoniously since the children's needs are paramount. Understanding, respect and cooperation are all major elements in the workers' relationships with each other. Otherwise, if someone misunderstands or disrespects the objectives plus focus of day care, chaos and confusion might ensue.

For an encouraging communication among staff, planning and reviewing sessions where positive criticisms and rooms for improvement can be brought to their attention should be encouraged. This can be done in verbal or written form through a comment logbook. Of course, it is also important not to neglect the management's usual assessment of staff to observe progress and guarantee continuing standards.

Even when from the outset the staffs are already suitably qualified for the job, the management must still support and make handy ongoing and pertinent daycare training. This training will ensure support from and management of staff. There should be a higher-ranking member of personnel playing the adviser/ manager role, a physically and emotionally vigorous working place and an approachable management who pays adequately to ensure an environment where workings carry out their duties efficiently.

The next relationship which often is underestimated and ignored is the parent/ worker relationship. The best welfare of the youngster depends on a successful parent/ worker relationship with open communication. All parties ought to be on the similar page as to the holistic approach that must e taken in the healthy growth of the youngster. Daycare policies in addition to procedures must be clear, concise and available to parents so all the gray areas can be clarified. The involvement of the parents especially their inputs must be welcomed and encouraged.

If you think you can't have all these skills required in productively and significantly working with children, then maybe you should think a new career. The skills required may be a lot but for the right personality, a job in daycare might be a worthwhile and fulfilling one.

Home Improvement - Tips and Care For Your Potted Plants

I am sure that you have your own hobbies. For those of you who are keen on gardening, these tips for your potted plant may be useful to ensure that your plants are looking nice and healthy. Unhealthy plants may give the impression of neglect.

Dust and dirt may accumulate on the leaves of your potted plant over the time. Apart from causing the leaves to look dull and dirty, they also clogged pores and prevented the cells to function properly. Your potted plant may become an eyesore instead of functioning as a decoration. Spend some time to cleanse your plant by sprinkling the leaves with water and dry them with damp cloth.

CARE IMPROVEMENT

You need to put some fertilizer to the soil from time to time. Your potted plant needs the fertilizer to replenish lost nutrients to the soil. If you are unsure of the right time to nourish your plant, look for the flower. The best time to fertilize your plants is when they are in bloom.

You also need to care for the root since it also needs oxygen and water. Make sure that the soil is not too firm due to dryness. Check the soil and water the plant as needed - some herbal plants requires frequent watering and the same goes to the plants that you put in the open. Since the soil available in the container is limited (compared to the one on the ground), you need to change the soil from time to time. This is part of the process to ensure proper drainage and enough nutrients to the plant.

Different plants require different amount of sunlight. Some of them need direct sunlight and some may not survive in the hot sun. If you are planting a plant with multiple colors, you may need to expose it to direct sunlight. Begonias, for instance, need sunlight to bloom, but too much sunlight may dry them. If you are keeping the potted plant indoor, just make sure you bring them outside from time to time, or use suitable light bulb to help plant growth.

For those of you who cannot spend too much time looking after your plant, but for some reasons you are keen to keep some potted plants, look out for the types that does not require too much attention. You may consider to adopt cacti or dracaena fragrans (also known as corn tree) since they do not require too much maintenance. And they can be planted in pots!

Wood Floor Care

A hard wood floor is an excellent, albeit expensive, choice for flooring in different environments. In a commercial setting it offers an air of sophistication and professionalism, whilst in a domestic setting it offers a warm homely feel so many strive for.

Wooden floor is extremely durable, but quite often that deep shiny and polished finished makes it a very difficult type of flooring to maintain and look after effectively. There are many factors which can cause wooden flooring to lose its glossy polished finished, including walk in dirt, furniture being moved incorrectly, items being dragged, or anything with sharp or metal points (even high heel shoes) can all scuff, mark or damage the floor in some way.

CARE IMPROVEMENT

There are some basic ways to avoid this, many are common sense factors but remarkably easy to forget to carry out on a daily basis. In terms of furniture and heavy items, it is important to move and place these items carefully, lifting rather than dragging. If possibly put some sort of felted or padded material on the base or points of furniture and chairs, and avoid wearing outdoor shoes.

In a commercial environment it is obviously not feasible to remove shoes, but something as simple as doormats can be effective in removing or limiting a large amount of the walk in dirt responsible for marking floors. Regular sweeping and vacuuming will also help keep the floor in its original state.

One of the major problems with keeping a wooden floor looking good is related to spillages. Any spillages of liquid should be cleaned immediately. Water may not stain the wood, but it will seep into any crack or seam in the wood and ruin it over time. Liquids such as coffee and wine can stain the wood very quickly.

If your floor starts, over time, to have a dulled or noticeably dirty appearance which isn't changed by regular cleaning, it is advisable to contact a professional company specializing in wood floor care, which will be able to advise you as to how best to deal with the problem. They will be likely to assess the condition of the floor, and consider what has previously been applied to the floor. There are generally two possibilities:

A floor which has previously had a good sealer applied probably means that the poor looking finish is as a result of a build-up of dirt and soil over time. In this case, they may well recommend surface buffing and polishing. If some sort of varnish product has been applied, depending on the quality and finish, the polish may need to be stripped, the wood cleaned, and a polish reapplied.

If a floor is unsealed or the sealer has been damaged to the point where it is no longer protected, it is likely that the wood itself has become marked or stained. In this case surface sanding and the application of a good sealer is the best way to achieve and professional appearance like that of the original flooring.

Fracture Grouting

In order to achieve perfect ground improvement and leveling, many types of grouting methods are used. One such grouting method is known as the Compensation or Fracture Grouting. The process is about injecting and hydrofacturing with grout slurry of the soil.

In addition, the foundation of the grout slurry is pulled into the factures, which causes the extension countering the settlement and creates a controlled heave of the foundation. The repletion of the process creates a sensitive zone under the ground surface level.

CARE IMPROVEMENT

Types of Fracture Grouting soils: As this ground improvement process needs only soil to be fractured, the grouting method is only used for delicate types of the soil. These are the soils ranging from weak to the clay type. This method of grouting is especially used in the conditions that have soft soil.

Fracture Grouting Soil types: Because the process requires only the soil to be fractured, Fracture Grouting may be used at low permeability soil types ranging from weak rocks to clays. The method of fracture grouting is applicable on the following processes:

For the reduction or reciprocal reaction of differential settlement
For the reduction or reciprocal of total settlement
For prevention of settlement on the base of the building

The process of grouting involves the following steps:

The installation of grout injection tubes is the initial action of the process.
To control the movements by monitoring the process by the use of special settlement systems.
Increase the injections of grout into the base with careful control to maximize the grouting.

Some of the merits of Fracture Grouting system:

The controlling activity in the process can be carried out from the exterior of the building, so there is no inconvenience caused to the occupants.
This process may be repeated for maximum satisfying outcome. However, the repetition is carried out only if required.
The controlling patterns can vary depending on the soil condition of the concerned location for ground improvement.

Proper Care of Electrical Appliances

Everyone would surely agree that electrical home appliances are prone to electrical short circuits that usually lead to fire accidents. In a study on fire incidents done in 2007, data showed that 19% of this incident was caused by electrical short circuits. Homeowners who are starting to build their own home should concentrate their efforts not only on how their houses should look like after the construction but also how safe it is for their family particularly with regards to the electrical system.

In designing the electrical system of your home, be sure that the one doing it had undergone proper training and got a professional license. Proper installation and specification of wire are needed in designing the electrical system; it should withstand the highest rated current that may be installed in your homes. The designer should take into consideration important factors like the kind of wires, insulation and the physical effect of nature, climate in the electrical system.

For those who has been in their homes for the past 9 years or more, it would be best to start hiring inspector to reevaluate your electrical installation and electrical system for safety. The standard years being followed in some countries for electrical inspection on private homes is 10 years. In doing so, you will know whether your current electrical system is still fitted with regards to the number of your electrical appliances at home or if it already needs rewiring.

After all the construction and inspection, homeowners should regularly check electrical connections and follow the tips below:

a. Regularly check condition of electrical sockets

- Check visually for any abnormalities that you can notice, sometimes you wouldn't know insects may have started living within the sockets

b. Make sure to plug appliances to correct electrical socket

- Be sure to know the correct electrical sockets for your appliances. Check whether the socket is for 110-volt appliances or for 220-volt so you can protect your appliances and your self from being electrocuted

c. Clean electrical safety switch or circuit breaker

- Clean and check your safety switch and make sure that nothing gets in the way of the safety switch or circuit breaker

d. Check electrical cables

- Make it a habit to check all cables including extension cables before using them tp make sure that they are not damaged or cut.

e. Unplug electrical appliances when not in use.

- This is common yet definitely the most important tip in protecting your appliances and avoiding fire accidents. Again, unplug electrical appliances and turn off lights when not in use.

You should also consider installing GFCI outlet in your home. GFCI or Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter is one of the newest technology that everyone should use now. It is designed to protect homeowners from electric shock. Its working principle is the same with electrical fuse, it monitors the amount of electrical current flowing and when any imbalance took place in the system that would generate heat, it would automatically cut or trip the electrical system. This kind of outlet is more recommended on private homes especially with someone who has child living with them if things get wrong GFCI has the capacity of one-thirtieth of a second to react. This is also useful to home appliances that might cause short circuit.

Lastly, another thing that owners should consider getting is a smoke detector because it can detect smoke fast and can alert homeowners fast. Each smoke detector is classified according to their price and sensitivity to fire smoke.

The above-mentioned tips will not only protect and maintain your appliances but will also protect you and your family from accidents caused by poor electrical system or damaged appliance.

5 Steps to Continuous Improvement

The driving force behind Japanese culture is the philosophy of Kaizen or in translation, continuous improvement. Kaizen is a daily process of applying ideas that gradually bring you closer to an improvement and can be applied at work or in life. When applied to the workplace, Kaizen can deliver significant results through tiny actions in areas of productivity, employee morale and safety. Companies that embrace this philosophy encourage people at all levels, from the CEO down to evaluate their surroundings and work processes and implement suggestions to improve workflow, standards and process. The end result is that improvements eventually lead to better quality, better productivity and higher profits.

Below are 5 Steps to help you use Kaizen in your organization:

CARE IMPROVEMENT

1. Define a Problem

If no problems existed, then there is no potential for improvement. First step is to recognize that a problem does exist. Most times the people who create the problem are not sensitive to it since they are not inconvenienced by it every day and nobody wants to admit that they created a problem. Think positive and look at a problem as an opportunity for improvement rather than an issue.

2. Create a Standard

If you do not have a standard, how can you improve upon it or know that you are improving? There must be a standard of measure for everything in your business, whether it is a worker, machine, process or manager. There has to be a baseline measurement that exists so you continually grow to surpass that standard.

3. Develop 3 to 5 Good Ideas

Once you have identified the problem and the standard that you need to improve upon, the next step in the process is to develop 3 to 5 good ideas. Ones that pass the PCST (personal common sense test). These ideas can come from anywhere within the organization through a suggestion system where people can share their ideas. This will improve morale and let the employees buy into the process through participation. Once you have all the suggestions, select the best 3 to 5. Select the ones that are easily implemented and will yield results within 120 days. 4. Implement Ideas Kaizen is all about action. You selected the best 3 to 5 ideas that will yield a result within 120 days because it is all about gradual and continuous improvement. Most companies have grandiose ideas and want to solve world hunger in 120 days, the approach we want you to take is to start buying a hungry man a sandwich.

5. Go back to step 1

The last step of the process is to start it over again--hence the word continuous. The goal is to pick your ideas and implement them within 120 days and then implement another set of ideas after that and again and again and again.

In Kaizen, you do not have to focus on grand ideas. In fact the best results and the best ideas are usually the smaller ones because they can be implemented easily and employees will be motivated and begin to like the winning feeling. Once they have that feeling in their gut, they will want more and more and more an eventually bring your organization to the highest level of efficiency.

CARE IMPROVEMENT

Care and Cleaning of Vinyl Siding and Soffitt

Over time, your homes vinyl siding and soffitt will have dirt exposure from atmospheric conditions. Ordinarily, the cleaning action of rainfall will be adequate to wash the vinyl siding. However, vinyl siding and soffitt should be washed periodically with a garden hose and clean water, particularly in those areas not exposed to normal rainfall. If you desire to do a more thorough cleaning, or where high soil collection conditions occur, follow these simple instructions.

Use a soft-bristled, long-handled washing brush. These washing brushes attach to your garden hose and make washing your siding easier. Do not rub vigorously, as this may create glossy areas over the vinyl siding finish.

CARE IMPROVEMENT

For hard to remove dirt, such as soot and grime found in industrial areas, wipe the siding down with a solution consisting of the following ingredients:

o 1/3 cup powdered detergent (Tide, Fab, or an equivalent powder detergent)

o 2/3 cup household cleaner (Soilax, Spic & Span or a comparable equivalent)

o 1 gallon water

If mildew is a problem in your area, prepare the solution above but substitute 1 quart of laundry bleach for 1 quart of water.

If you wash down the entire house, start at the bottom and work up to the top, as less streaking will result.

It is important that immediately following all washing operations, the entire surface be thoroughly rinsed with fresh water from a garden hose. Avoid prolonged or high pressure rinsing of open, ventilated areas.

For best results when using cleaning solution, select an overcast cool day (55° - 75°) and wash only small areas at a time. This should allow the wet cleaning solution to remain in contact with the finish for a period of not less than 3 minutes; then rinse with clear water before it has a chance to dry.

Caution: Greater concentrations may cause damage to the vinyl siding finish. Do not use cleaners containing abrasive particles, solvent, or ammoniated-type cleaners or paint remover for cleaning the vinyl siding. When using any of the above chemical cleaning agents, observe the chemical manufacturer's recommended safety precautions. Protect against contact of the solution with skin or eyes.
