Learning to Take Care of Yourself

Learning to take care of yourself is one of the most important things you can ever do. There are some people, often caregivers or parents, who spend so much time taking care of others that they forget to give themselves the attention and care that they need.

If you fall into this category, then it's time you learn how to take better care of yourself. Often, caregivers feel that they are being selfish when they do things for themselves. The truth of the matter is that you can never properly care for others when you neglect yourself. If you want to be a better caregiver, start with taking care of yourself and nurture the fact that you deserve some pampering, too.

CARE IMPROVEMENT

Here are some ways you can do that:

· Take time each day to be alone

· Take time to do something you enjoy

· Encourage your hobbies

· Do something relaxing-bubble bath, foot massage, etc

· Spend time with your partner or a good friend

· Do something fun- visit a park, play a game, etc

· Laugh more

· Take care of your physical appearance- do your nails, buy a new shirt, etc

Now that you have these tips, it's time to start taking care of yourself. If you're new to this, it might even feel awkward at first but give it a full chance before you give up. Try not to allow yourself to feel guilty for taking a little time or a little money to do something nice for yourself once in awhile.
